KARACHI, July 8: Sindh Planning and Development Minister Shoaib Bukhari laid the foundation stone of the extension project of Raana Liaquat Ali Khan Government College of Home Economics, Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town, here on Friday. The extension project worth Rs99.454 million comprises of construction of 20 classrooms, six laboratories, six stores, administration block, a seminar hall, a conference hall, a lecture room and a computer lab.

Addressing on the occasion, the minister said that the government was trying to provide better education opportunities.

He said the project would be completed in 2007 and after the completion; around 4,000 students would get education instead of 2,000.

Mr Bukhari said that it was the first college that was imparting standard education up to the postgraduate level, so the government would make efforts to upgrade it to the level of a university. He directed DO Education (Works) to include construction of a car parking, gymnasium in the project.—PPI
