KARACHI: Karachi Basketball Club beat Usman Club 57-50 in the opening match of NBP Pakistan Day basketball tournament being organised by Karachi Basketball Asso­ciation in collaboration with NBP at Arambagh Basketball courts.

Raj Kumar who was unstoppable in the courts scored 23 points while Zainul Abdeen scored 12 points and Fuzail scored 12 points.

For the losing side, Faizan Yousuf scored 15, Hasan Ali 11, Hamza 11 and Daniyal Khan scoared six points,.

Earlier, Assistant Commissioner Arambagh Muhammad Muthahir Amin Hayat Watto, who was the chief guest on the occasion, inaugurated the event. Players of both teams were introduced the chief guest

According to KBBA chief Ghulam Muhammad Khan, as many as 12 teams from the city are taking part in the event. The tournament is being played on knock-out basis. NBP Sports Deptt is sponsoring the event.
