LAHORE: A total of 12 matches were decided in the boys U-18 and U-12 categories on the first day of the Servis Tyres National Junior Tennis Championship here at the Punjab Lawn Tennis Association courts on Wednesday.

Except Mohammad Mahatir, who had to go full distance, before winning against Shaeel Tahir, four other U-18 matches remained one-sided affairs.

Mahatir struggled before recording a 6-4, 3-6, 12-14 victory against Shaeel Tahir in a match lasting more than an hour.

In other U-18 matches, Ibrahim, Syed Mohammad Mustafa and Zaryab Khan and Bilal Asim earned victories. Meanwhile, all the seven U-12 matches also remained one-sided.

U-12: Xeerak Mustafa bt Amin Haroon 4-1, 4-2; Ali Jawad bt Rafay Attaullah 4-1, 4-1; Zohaib Afzal Malik bt Ammar 4-0, 4-2; Asad bt Mustafa Haroon 4-1, 4-1; Hamza Ali Rizwan bt Ashtifila Arif 4-1, 4-0; Yashar Tarar bt Mehru Fatima 4-2, 4-2; Hussnain Ali Rizwan bt Ameer Mazari 4-2, 4-1.
