LARKANA, July 6: The People’s Party Parliamentarians, Larkana, has decided to field its candidates on all seats and says it hopes to sweep the local body polls in Larkana and Qambar districts. The decision was taken at a meeting here on Wednesday which was presided over by Mr Ayaz Soomro, MPA and the district president of PPP. Briefing newsmen Asghar Shaikh, district information secretary of PPP Larkana, said the meeting scrutinized aspirants’ applications for the local body elections in Larkana and Qambar districts and discussed the emerging political situation in the home district of Ms Benazir Bhutto. The meeting supported the idea of seat adjustments with the ARD components in the district.

Mr Soomro urged unit presidents and general secretaries to boost their efforts in mustering support of the area people.

Mohammed Anwar Bhutto, Khalid Iqbal Memon, Ramesh Lal, Hizbullah Bughio, Ms Ruqqaya Khanum Soomro (MNAS’) Aziz Jatoi MPA, Khursheed Junejo, former district nazim Larkana and the office bearers of all sister organisations of PPP attended the meeting.

PPP-SB: Meanwhile the Sindh council of PPP-SB met here on Wednesday at Al-Murtaza with its provincial president Meenhan Khan Rind in the chair. Ms Ghinwa Bhutto, chairperson of PPP-SB attended the meeting on special invitation.

The meeting decided to contest local body elections under the platform of ‘Shaheed-Dost’.

Speaking on the Occasion, Ms Ghinwa said that her party would not form alliance with any political party as they were pro- establishment.
