NOWSHERA: A person was gunned down on Saturday when he refused a proposal of marriage with his daughter at ASC Colony in Nowshera Cantonment.

The police confirmed the incident, saying that Ziaul Wahab of Ziarat Kaka Sahib was shot dead by two armed persons when he was standing in front of his house.

Jawad, a nephew of the deceased, while filing FIR in the Nowshera Kalan police station said that he along with Zialul Wahab was standing outside his house in ASC colony when a car pulled up near them.

He said that the accused, Sahibzada and his two sons identified as Salman and Farhan, belonging to Mardan district, who are presently residing in the ASC colony, came out of the vehicle and started indiscriminate fire over his uncle. He said that his uncle he died on the spot.

The deceased was shifted to the district headquarter hospital, Nowshera, for autopsy.

It was stated that the accused persons had threatened the deceased to be ready for death as he had made engagement of his daughter with another person.

The accused escaped after committing the murder.

The Nowshera Kalan police registered a case and started further investigations into the incident.
