TOBA TEK SINGH: Gojra police arrested on Saturday a teacher of the Government Boys Elementary School, Chak 99-JB, on the complaint of a woman teacher for allegedly making a rape attempt on her in the school.

The complainant informed the police that she was the only female teacher in the school and the suspect assaulted her when she was alone in a room.

Meanwhile, District Education Officer male (elementary) Gulzar Ahmad Bhatti suspended the suspect from service.

In a suspension order issued on Saturday, he said the suspect had been found involved in sexual harassment and unethical activities on the school premises.

JUDGE: Justice Tariq Salim Sheikh of the Lahore High Court, Multan Bench, visited Toba District Jail and District Courts Complex.

He also met District Bar Association president Chaudhry Tanweer Ahmad Konta and secretary general Rana Izahurul Haq and heard the problems faced by the lawyers. District and Sessions Judge Amjad Iqbal Ranjha was also present.

ACCIDENT: A man died while his friend was injured when a car hit their motorcycle near the Forest Park on Toba-Jhang Road on Saturday.

The City police identified the deceased as Adnan Ahmad of Chak 383-JB, Alhar. He was on the way back to his home from the city along with his friend, Tahir, when a car ran over their motorcycle. As a result, Adnan died on the spot while Tahir was admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) in a critical condition.

The car driver fled from the scene, leaving his car behind and it was impounded by the police.

In another incident, a train crushed an old man to death at Gojra.

The police said Nasir Din Gujjar, 70, of Chak 88-JB (Faisalabad), was crossing the track near Chak 91-JB (Pacca Anna) when Lahore-Karachi bound Shalimar Express appeared suddenly and the old man was run over by it. As a result, he died instantly.

In yet another incident, a young boy jumped out of a moving train at Gojra and was critically wounded.

The police said Hamza Shah of Multan was travelling by Shalimar Express. When the train was crossing a level crossing at Gojra, he suddenly jumped out of the train and was severely injured. He was rushed to the Gojra THQ Hospital where he was still unconscious when this report was filed.

The reason behind the incident could not be known.

TRAINING: The government of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) will provide technical training to 50,000 minority youth in the government’s vocational training institutes to send them abroad for jobs, said Punjab Human Rights and Minorities Affairs Minister Ijaz Alam Augustine while addressing a gathering of his community at a private school here on Saturday.

He distributed financial assistance cheques to the deserving member of his community.

The Punjabi government’s coordinator for minorities Yasir Talib and local PTI leaders were also present.
