ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has left for Munich, Germany, to represent Pakistan in the international security conference being held there.

The conference will be attended by defence and foreign ministers and security experts from all over the world.

Talking to journalists before his departure, Mr Qureshi said he would present Pakistan’s point of view on different issues of regional peace and security in the conference.

He said that Pakistan-US relations had reached an important point and it was his effort to reset relations with the United States. He said that Pakistan’s role vis-a-vis peace in Afghanistan was now being appreciated by the world, adding that he would present Pakistan’s stance on Afghanistan in the conference.

The foreign minister said that he would hold meetings with Afghan President Ashraf Ghani and other world leaders to bring peace to the war-torn country.

He said that Pakistan had always supported peace efforts to bring stability to Afghanistan.
