A labourer was shot at and injured by unidentified gunmen in the Khairpur area of Sindh on Wednesday, according to local police.

The victim, a daily wage earner named Naseebullah Khan, was targeted outside a hotel where he works. He received bullet injuries on his leg and was shifted to a local hospital, where he is currently in a stable condition.

Khairpur Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Umer Tufail told Dawn that the victim, as per his own statement, is involved in a land dispute in his home district, Quetta.

“But we are also looking into the incident in the backdrop of [the recent] killing of three labourers in Larkana”, the SSP.

Three labourers travelling in a Qingqi rickshaw heading to Madeji town near Naudero Sugar Mills bypass had been gunned down by unidentified motorcyclists on Wednesday.
