LAHORE: Noman Butt has been elected as president of Sialkot Region — a position that makes him a member of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)’s governing board.

The elections were held here the other day, after a stay order against it was vacated on Friday and the elections process completed.

The PCB has also issued the notification: “Your region is to be represented on the Board of Governors of PCB as such the undersigned is pleased to notify you as member of the Board of Governors of Pakistan Cricket Board with immediate effect.

“The tenure of your region [Sialkot] on the Board of Governors shall expire on 8th August 2020 subject to the constitution, Rules, Regulations and Byelaws of PCB,” the notification said.

With Noman’s entry the strength of four members from regional bodies on the BoG has been completed.

Earlier, the presidents of Lahore, Quetta and Dera Murad Jamali were inducted in the Board of Governors along with four representatives from the departments.
