KARACHI: An official of the Police Qaumi Razakar, also a transporter, whose first wife was killed and another kidnapped, was shot dead in the Shah Latif Town area on Saturday allegedly by the man accused in his wife’s murder case, police said.

They added that Habib Shah, 46, was attacked by unknown gunmen on the main National Highway at Abbott company near Khuldabad.

He sustained multiple bullet wounds and was taken to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

Dr Seemin Jamali said the victim received three bullet injuries on his face and chest. “A PQR card showing him to be a sub-inspector was also found in his possession,” she added.

However, Shah Latif Town SHO Gul Beg said that the victim was professionally a transporter but he also carried the PQR card.

The officer said that his first wife was gunned down recently while another was allegedly kidnapped.

The deceased had nominated a man identified as Raval at the Quaidabad police station in the murder case of his wife and on Saturday the hearing of the case also took place at the Malir courts.

Quoting the daughter of the deceased, the SHO said that the family suspected the involvement of Raval in the murder.

The officer said Raval was a known character in the Quaidabad area. He said the victim’s daughter told the police that they would get an FIR registered after the burial.
