KARACHI: A property dealer was shot dead and another wounded critically by suspected robbers over resistance in Sohrab Goth on Friday, a police officer said.

He said the victims had drawn cash from a bank and were on their way to Quetta Town riding a motorbike when two armed suspects also riding a bike chased them, snatched their cash and opened fire over resistance. Amanuddin, 45, and Shah Waliullah, 40, sustained critical bullet injuries and were transported to a private hospital in Gulshan-i-Iqbal where the latter died during treatment.

Later on, his body was brought at Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for a post-mortem.

Additional Police Surgeon Dr Saleem Shaikh told Dawn that the victim sustained multiple bullet wounds.

Amanuddin was shifted to Aga Khan University Hospital, but in the evening, he was brought for treatment at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
