LAHORE: A Punjabi language daily, Sajjan, which had suspended its publication 18 months after inception in 1990 due to financial constraints, has launched its digital version through a website.

A ceremony was held at the South Asian Free Media Association (Safma) office where its website, www.sajjanlahore.com, was launched.

The ceremony was attended by its pioneer members, including Hussain Naqi, Aslam Dogar Akram Varraich, Jamil Pual, Shafiq Awan, Iqbal Qaiser, Zahid Butt, Nauman Yawar, Waseem, Zubair Ahmed, Zaffar Jamal, Shahid Shah and Amjad Saleem.

All the members of the team would voluntarily provide their services for the website and also contribute to managing finances and material for the website.

The website would focus economy, sociology, music, politics and education. Two teams have been constituted to check the material of the website under the leadership of veteran journalist and human rights activist Hussain Naqi.
