NAWABSHAH: Police and Rangers personnel carried out raids on several houses in Malik Colony and Pak Colony in the city on Friday.

No arrests were made during the search of the houses. However, residents of Pak Colony claimed that two persons were taken away by the raiding teams. They said women personnel accompanying the police carried out search in the houses.

Panic prevailed in the localities as they remained surrounded by the raiding parties during the course of the operation.

City DSP Mubeen Parhyar said that the operation was actually conducted by the paramilitary force and police personnel just accompanied them. He said 15-20 houses were searched.
