PESHAWAR: The security forces on Tuesday claimed to have arrested a suspected suicide bomber from the outskirts of the city in an intelligence-based operation and recovered a suicide jacket from him.

ISPR said in a statement that the suicide bomber was arrested from Tarnab Farm, located 13 kilometers northeast of the provincial capital. However, it did not offer any other details.

A local police official expressed his ignorance about the operation and said they also searched the area following the reports of suicide bomber arrest but could not verify it. “It seemed to be a rumour,” the official said.
