Little mistress and little master are going to some place they call school and when I try to follow them out of the door, little mistress just pushes me back in the house.

I scowl at her, then I go to get some sleep on little mistress’s bed.

When I wake up, I feel hungry so I go down the stairs. Little master is back home already and is sitting in front of a strange box with pictures on it that keep changing.

I am just about to turn towards the kitchen when the doorbell rings.

“Oh dear,” I say to myself. “She’s here. I don’t want to be hugged.”

I run into the kitchen, and try to knock the dish of biscuits off the table. When I fail to do so, I quickly hide under the table.

“Kitty! Where are you?”

“Please don’t find me,” I say.

She walks into the kitchen and then stops.

“Hah! Found you!”

She grabs me and hugs me hard, almost choking me. She doesn’t let go of me and so I try to scratch her. She grabs my paw and laughs, but then she lets me go.

“Are you hungry?”

I look up at her.

“Meow,” I say. I’m starving!

She grabs my bowl and fills it up with my favourite biscuits. After eating my scrumptious meal, I go to my basket and fall asleep. When I wake up, I know it’s time for the master to arrive. I run towards the main door and wait beside it.

The bell rings and I look around, wondering who’d open the door.

Little master comes running to open the door. Master comes in and he smiles at me and pats my head. I purr with delight.

“Let’s play,” says little master.

I am reluctant at first but then I follow him. We play in his room with my favourite ball. Suddenly, little mistress comes into the room.

“It’s time,” she says, giving me a wicked smile.

No! It’s bath time! She grabs me and I try to escape, but she’s obviously stronger than me. She puts me in the tub and I splash around in the water.

Save me! I’m dying!

After scrubbing and washing me, she takes me out and dries me. Then, I’m finally free to go. I go to the master, who’s reading the newspaper. He pats my head again and gives me a biscuit. I purr.

Then the family gathers for dinner. Mistress puts some rice in my dish while little mistress lays the table. We eat silently then I walk back to my basket.

What a tiring day! I quickly fall asleep.
