BAHAWALPUR: The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) has announced Jan 23 as the last date for registration for the 14th Cholistan Jeep Rally scheduled for next month.

Rahim Yar Khan district has been included for the first time in the route of the rally that also includes boundaries of Bahwalnagar and Bahawalpur districts. This was announced in a meeting on Wednesday to review arrangements for the rally. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner Shozeb Saeed.

The meeting was told that expansion of the route from 416 kilometres to 500km was also being considered.

A final decision will be taken after thorough deliberation.

The meeting also suggested eight locations for parking ambulances equipped with modern facilities and tractors to meet any medical emergency and vehicle breakdown during the rally. It stressed provision of maximum facilities to tourists visiting the rally from home and abroad.
