LAKKI MARWAT: Two young men were killed over minor disputes in rural localities of the district, police said on Saturday.

Police said Abdul Rehman and his son, Farmanullah, were cutting grass on a mountain in Shah Hasankhel village when their rivals came there and opened fire on Farmanullah, killing him on the spot.

They said the two killers were armed with assault rifles while their third accomplice was armed with a sickle.

Complainant Abdul Rehman told police that accused Akhto Jan, Hidayatullah and Rashid Ahmad sprayed Farmanullah with bullets, killing him on the spot. He said a dispute over a thoroughfare with killers led to the killing of his son.

Separately, a young man named Abidullah was shot dead by rivals in Dallokhel village.

The deceased’s father, Khurshid Khan, told police that three armed men, Naseer Mohammad, Khalid Khan and Akhtar Zaman, opened fire when he and his son reached near the volleyball ground. He said Abidullah died instantly while he escaped the attack. “Abidullah had argued with the killers some days ago,” his father said.

Meanwhile, police arrested four people, including a proclaimed offender and a facilitator of criminals, in raids on Saturday.

An official said police arrested three people, including a proclaimed offender named Falak, in raids in Tor Lawangkhel village, and seized two shotguns, a pistol, bullets and spare magazines from them.

Police also captured a man, Bahadar Khan in Tajazai locality and recovered an AK-47 rifle and bullets from him.
