LONDON: The Moscow Radio yesterday [Jan 8] quoted an extract from the influential Soviet review ‘War and Working Class’ criticising the American Federation of Labour for its “reactionary leadership.” The review said: “This is vigorously resisting international Trade Union unity. It took advantage of the recent Boston Convention to make an open political demonstration against relations and cooperation with the Trade Unions of the U.S.S.R. To this end the International Contacts Committee of A.F.L. expressed its deep gratitude to the A.F.L delegate to the British Trade Union conference, who attacked Soviet Trade Unions with the intention of preventing development of closer relations and mutual understanding between the Trade Unions of Britain and the U.S.S.R.

The folly against Soviet Trade Unions on the part of the A.F.L. reactionary clique is that relations with Soviet Trade Unions will aggravate disunity in the American Labour Movement. They have confused their anti-Soviet campaign by hypocritical outward expressions of admiration for the Red Army and the Soviet people.”
