KARACHI, June 28: The Sindh Minister for Planning and Development, Shoaib Ahmed Bukhari, on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of Government Boys Secondary School, Azimpura, Shah Faisal Town.

To be constructed at a cost of Rs11 million over an area of 13,752 sq-ft, the school will have 12 classrooms, administration block, library and workshop.

Speaking on the occasion the minister said that those nations who made education their mission, carved out a place for themselves in the comity of developed nations.

He said illiteracy is a major impediment in the way of progress.

Mr Bukhari said that on the directives of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s chief Altaf Hussain, every effort was being made for the establishment of such educational institutions where students were imparted education as per the requirements of this era.

Speaking on the occasion, MQM MPA Mohammed Abbas Jaffery said that MQM did not believe in publicity but followed Altaf Hussain’s ideology of reality and practical acts.—APP
