Two cup events top nine-race card at LRC today

LAHORE: The Jinnah Cup and the Winter Cup are prominent in a smart nine-race card that has been drawn for the Lahore Winter Meeting which takes place at the Racecourse on Saturday.

The Jinnah Cup, a term race for three-year-old horses to be contested over 1,600 metres, has a field of seven acceptors. It is the sixth event in the racing order.

The Winter Cup, which is the next race, class VI (class V included), has a dozen contestants. It will go over 1,100 metres.

An enormous number of 103 horses have entered the competition and will vie for honours barring last-minute withdrawal(s).

The first race gets into action at 11:00am.
