KARACHI, Jan 11: A division bench of the Sindh High Court on Friday issued contempt of court notices against chief engineer of KESC and some other officials.

The bench, comprising Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed and Justice Zia Pervaiz, passed the order when the contempt application filed by Noman Baqi, chief executive of the Classic Marble, Karachi, came up for hearing.

The petitioner alleged that the KESC officials had removed the transformer which supplied electricity to the petitioner. This was done despite a restraining order issued by the court.

The transformer was removed to vitiate the orders of the court, and the alleged contemnors are playing with the process of justice, the petitioner maintained.
