PPP audit

Published December 17, 2018

THIS is apropos Dr Raza Gardezi’s letter ‘PPP audit’ (Dec 1). What the good doctor has mentioned about the poor performance of the PPP government is just the tip of the iceberg.

The transport minister promised many a time on TV channels that Karachi would be provided 1,000 buses, but just before the end of his term only 10 buses were provided for a photo-op. Even these have not been seen since. Again, for the last five years no car registration plates have been provided, with many vehicles running with make-shift number-plates. There are no public toilets in the city either. It has taken the judiciary to order removal of encroachments and cleaning up the environment.

While the entire country is busy planting trees, in Sindh there is hardly any move in this regard. The reverse osmosis plants of Thar sit idly by.
