MULTAN: Police on Wednesday arrested five students of Bahauddin Zakariya University for allegedly kidnapping an assistant professor.

BZU Forestry Department Assistant Professor Wasif Nauman was allegedly kidnapped by unidentified suspects outside the university gate.

The police obtained video of the incident that showed Mr Nauman’s car was interrupted by some suspects bundling him into another car. Police with the help of the university administration identified the suspects who were reportedly members of a students organisation.

Police soon rescued the teacher and arrested the suspects.

A first information report is yet to be lodged. According to police sources, the arrested students were claiming that the allegation of kidnapping was baseless.
