Wajid, Riaz inspire DHA Blues

KARACHI, June 24 Wajid Ali’s unbeaten 100 and Riaz Shaikh’s four wickets for 40 powered DHA Blues to lift the KCCA Inter-departmental title beating SSGC in the final by five wickets at the KCCA Stadium.

SSGC batting first posted a respectable 250 for nine wickets mainly due to brilliant 122 by M. Zafar who in process struck nine fours and five sixes score off 131 balls.

DHA Blues made the task look easy and achieved the target in 45.2 overs. Wajid faced 121 deliveries and in process struck seven fours and two sixes.

SSGC 250 for nine wickets (M.Zafar 122, Mansoor Ali 31, Ashraf Ali 20; Riaz Shaikh 4-40, Malik Aftab Alam 2-28)

DHA Blues 253 for five wickets in 45.2 overs (Wajid Ali 100 not out, Waseem Naeem 41, Akbar Rehman 32, Sohail Ahmed 2-46, Irfanullah 2-42).
