ISLAMABAD: Wrong parking is not allowed in the capital and those found involved in the practice will be dealt with strictly.

This was stated by Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) on Saturday.

It has been decided to take strict action against those involved in wrong parking that leads to traffic jams on roads and markets, the ITP said.

Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic)) Farrukh Rasheed directed prompt action against violators as it caused inconvenience to the road users.

An official of the ITP said hundreds of complaints had been lodged with the police about wrong parking around educational institutions and hospitals as well as at F-8 Markaz, G-8 and G-9 Markaz.

In Super Market, Jinnah Super, Kohsar Market and Aabpara, action has been started and numerous motorists were fined on Saturday.

The drive will be extended to other areas and important shopping centres, malls and business zones. Special squads have been constituted for this purpose.
