HARIPUR: A drug addict missing for three months was found dead here on Thursday.

The police said Imran alias Goga, 37-year-old resident of Alooli village, died from drug overdose. They said the addict’s body was found in thebushes near the Muhallah Baboo graveyard and was handed over to his family after postmortem at the district headquarters hospital.

The police and doctors said the body didn’t carry torture marks or injury and that its condition suggested that the death was caused by drug overdose. The police claimed they had recovered few grams of heroin from the deceased’s pocket.

STRIKE CONTINUES: The teachers and administrative staff of the University of Haripur continued their strike here on Thursday suspending academic and administrative affairs for the third consecutive day.

The call for strike was given by the Academic Staff Association and Administrative Staff Welfare Association to press the government for the appointment of permanent VC and pro-VC to the university and payment of salary to the staff members. The university teachers and other staff members took to the street on Thursday and blocked the Hattar Road for half an hour as protest.
