LAHORE: Wapda dominated on the first day of the 12th National Women Karate Championship as its players won all four gold medals on stake at the Sports Gymnasium Hall in Sahiwal on Saturday.

Teams from the affiliated units of Pakistan Karate Federation Wapda, namely Army, Railways, Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, KP and Islamabad are participating.

In Individual Kata Shahida of Wapda won the gold medal, while Balochistan’s Hadia earned silver. Maliha (KPK) and Syeda Aqsa Jabeen (Sindh) won bronze medals.

In Team Kata Wapda’s Shahida, Naz Gul and Nargis snatched the gold medal. Balochsitan’s Hadia, Shakira and Farishta remained second while Railway’s Farishta, Fatima and Farooq Ghulam Ali and Punjab’s Manahil, Minha and Lubna bagged bronze medals.

In the -45 kg category, Laiba Zia won another gold medal for Wapda. Maham Batool (Punjab) won the silver medal. Farzdana (Balochistan) and Naila Kausar (Army) won the bronze medals.

In the -50kg category Wapda’s Beenish remained top, as Gul Naz (Army) scooped a silver medal. Zeeba (Balochistan) and Fatima Furqan (Sindh) won the bronze medal.
