SUKKUR: A man killed his younger sister and her friend in the name of so-called honour in his house in Murtaza Colony within the jurisdiction of Saddar police station in Jacobabad late on Wednesday night.

Police said that Ali Dost Rind opened fire with a pistol on his sister Robina and her friend Madad Ali Darpali when he found them alone in the house in his absence. Ali Dost surrendered to police after committing the double murder, said police.

Police shifted the dead bodies to civil hospital for post-mortem examination after which they were handed over to relatives.

Ms Meema Rind, the girl’s aunt, told media persons that Ali Dost who worked as a labourer on a farm adjacent to the house flew into a rage when he found his sister with the man and killed them both in the name of honour.

Police have registered a case of double murder on behalf of the state against Ali Dost and put him under arrest.
