PESHAWAR: The National Accountability Bureau’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter director general Farmanullah on Thursday distributed cheques among the affected persons of a private housing scheme, Khushal Gardens, Nowshera. According to a statement, the amount was recovered through voluntarily return from the management of the housing scheme.

It said that Dawood Khattak as MD Khushal Gardens along with four partners had launched a housing scheme in Mouza Badreshi, Nowshera, after obtaining NOC from the concerned TMA against 327 kanals.

All the formalities were completed for the housing scheme, but the management of Khushal Gardens did not deliver the plots as promised and resultantly the claimants approached NAB for recovery of their alleged ‘looted’ money.

The accused entered into voluntary return with NAB KP and returned the money of people.

The affected persons were handed over the cheques at NAB KP office during a ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Farmanullah assured the people that the NAB would continue its efforts and ensure return of looted money from the culprits to its rightful owners.

He said that NAB was determined to eradicate the menace of corruption from the society. He also sought public support in this regard.
