KARACHI: A fine knock of 71 runs by Abdullah Zarin steered Al Fatima School into the semifinals of 9th PVCA/EBM Inter-School Cricket Tournament 2018 here on Sunday. They beat New Standard Secondary School by 9 wickets in the tournament which has been organized by Pakistan Veterans Cricket Association (PVCA) and EBM.

Kamran Public and Ibrahim Ali Bhai School have earlier already qualified for the semis.

Al Fatima School won the toss and put New Standard Secondary School in to bat first who scored 123 runs in 39.2 overs. Haider Zaman scored 44 runs and K.M. Hafeez 26 runs. From Al Fatima School, Ahad Ali with 2-14, Asad Shehzad 2-15, Shair Bahadur 2-33 and Adeel Ahmed 2-24 were the wicket-takers.

In reply, the required target was achieved by Al Fatima School in only 15.2 overs for the loss of just one wicket. Mohammad Abbas scored 37 runs, Abdullah Zarin score of 71 runs. Abdullah of Al Fatima School was later declared Man of the Match.

The last quarterfinal match will be played on Nov 26 between FF Public School and Fahad Academy School at Rashid Latif Cricket Academy.
