KOHAT: The agriculture department and district administration, Hangu, have asked the farmers to adopt tunnel farming to increase their yield of vegetables and become self-reliant.

Speaking at a seminar, Hangu ADC Attaul Manan, director agriculture Abdullah Khan and agriculture experts said that the climate of Hangu was feasible for growing all sorts of vegetables round the year, but no attention had been paid to it.

They said that despite so much potential in the area vegetables were brought to the district from other districts.

They urged the farmers to take advantage of the conductive conditions and become financially sound besides contributing to the local economy.

They highlighted the importance of tunnel farming to cash their crop to maximum extent.

They asked the farmers to keep close liaison with the agriculture department for introducing tunnel farming.
