KARACHI: Ghulaman-e-Abbas School and Govern­ment Boys Secondary School (GBSS) PAF Base Masroor set a date for the title clash in the secondary boys category of the Essa Lab inter-school primary and secondary boys and girls hockey tournament at the Olympian Islahuddin-Dr Mohammad Ali Shah academy on Friday.

Ghulaman-e-Abbas School carved out 3-0 victory over Qamar Bin Hashim School in the first semi-final played on the penultimate day.

Hasnain Askari, Shafat Ali and Jalal Hussain netted one goal each for the winners.

In the other semi-final GBSS PAF Base Masroor inflicted 2-1 defeat on Faheem School.

Owais and Afaq scored one goal apiece for winners while Abdul Rehman reduced the deficit for losers.

Zara Awan’s hat-trick enabled Habib Girls School cruised past Government Girls Secondary School (GGSS) Idara-e-Sharqiya 3-0 to make it to the final.

Zara performed the feat by scoring goals in the fifth, 12th and 38th minutes.

Habib Girls School faces APWA GGSS Liaquatabad in the final after the latter registered a solitary goal victory over GGSS University Campus in the other encounter.

Sonia scored the all important goal for the winners.

All the four finals — primary boys and girls and secondary boys and girls — will be played on Saturday morning.
