THIS refers to Cyril Almeida’s article ‘Back to comedy’ (Nov 11).

The writer composed the rather long article just to say a few words which he finally did at the end thus : “There really is only one possibility left: it’s not politicians, the point is to discredit politics itself. To what end? We’ll just have to wait and see. Maybe the quality of the comedy will improve, too.”

It is rather amazing that the writer can’t see mountains of evidence produced against our corrupt politicians, and not just by Pakistani sources.

It is a fact that in the recent past there was plenty of opportunity for the military to take over government but it did not, which will make a normal person believe that the military has learnt its lesson and is no more interested in such misadventures.
