HYDERABAD: A total of 23,898 candidates, including 18,833 men and 5,065 women appeared in pre-entry test for admission to various bachelor’s degree programmes in University of Sindh amid tight security arrangements at the university’s main campus in Jamshoro and six other campuses across the province on Sunday.
The test, which was conducted by SU Testing Centre (SUTC), started after a delay of over an hour.
As many as 22,270 out of a total of 23,898 candidates, including 17,558 men and 4,712 women sat the test at the main campus in Jamshoro and 1,628 took the test at the remaining campuses.
According to breakup, 251 appeared in the test at Laar Campus in Badin, 489 at Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Campus Dadu, 135 at Thatta, 363 at Mirpurkhas, 240 at Larkana and 150 candidates sat the test in SU Syed Allahndo Shah campus in Naushahro Feroze.
SU vice chancellor Prof Dr Fateh Muhammad Burfat, who has formed a vigilance committee comprising deans, members of syndicate, DIG Hyderabad and other officers concerned to supervise the test, visited exam centres to inspect arrangements.
He told media persons earlier about the corruption charges he was facing and the ongoing probe by the Anti-Corruption Establishment and said if the corruption charges proved, he would immediately tender resignation. The test was delayed because the candidates were coming from several districts, he said.
DADU: The SU Dadu campus held the entry test for admission to four-year bachelor’s degree programmes in BBA, BS-IT and BS English departments. A total of 486 candidates appeared in the test, including 135 women and 351 men.
MIRPURKHAS: SU Mirpurkhas campus held entry test for admission to different subjects amid strict security arrangements. The administration saw to it that no unconcerned person was allowed to enter the campus during the test. Imamuddin Khoso, pro vice chancellor of the campus, visited the campus to inspect the test.
