RAWALPINDI: Chief Justice Saqib Nisar has said he will be returning to work today (Tuesday), two days after undergoing an angioplasty at the Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC).

Justice Nisar was speaking while leaving the hospital after the procedure.

He was admitted to the hospital on Sunday after complaints of chest pain. An angiography found that one of the arteries of his heart was blocked.

During the procedure, the doctors removed the blockage through the balloon, and a stent was not placed in the artery.

He was later moved to a special room where he was allowed to meet and speak to visitors.

Tight security was put in place at the hospital soon after Justice Nisar was admitted for the procedure.

Although doctors have advised him to rest for at least four days, while leaving the hospital Justice Nisar said he was feeling well and would return to work on Tuesday.
