MIANWALI: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has announced a ‘state of the art’ 200-bed maternal and child healthcare hospital in Mianwali which will be completed in a record time of 18 months.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, she said Prime Minister Imran Khan would lay foundation stone of the project in his hometown next month.

The minister said such hospitals would be built in other backward areas of Punjab like Rajanpur, Bahawalnagar, Attock etc. She said purpose of such hospitals was to reduce mortality ratio among women.

She promised ventilators, MRI machines and other medical equipment for DHQ and THQ hospitals of the district.

Last night the minister paid a surprise visit to the DHQ Hospital and was shocked to find absence of duty doctors. She asked the local health CO to look into the matter.
