KARACHI: Azad Cricket Academy beat Moin Khan Academy by four wickets in the second semifinal here on Wednesday to reach the final of the NBP U-17 inter-academy cricket tournament.

Azad Academy won the toss and asked Moin Khan Academy to bat first who scored 155 for 6 in the stipulated overs. Mohammad Hanzila topscored with a fluent 45 with the help of three boundaries. Mohammad Ibrahim and Taha Siddiqui bagged two wickets each.

In reply, Azad Academy reached the target for the loss of six wickets. Taha Siddiqui was the top scorer with 45 which contained one six and two fours while Ahad Ali (31) also batted well and slammed five boundaries. Shariq Sarwar captured three wickets.

Jalaluddin, the former Test and ODI pacer and chief selector of women’s cricket team, was the chief guest on the occasion and presented the Man of the Match award to Taha Siddiqui for his all-round show.

The final will be played between Maymar Cricket Academy and Azad Academy on Saturday at the NBP Sports Complex at 1:00pm.
