Licences of trade bodies, chambers revoked for non-compliance

LAHORE: The Directorate General of Trade Organisation (DGTO) has revoked licences of various associations and chambers of commerce for misappropriation and non-compliance with the Trade Organisations Act 2013.

According to a press release issued on Friday, the licenses of all new women chambers stand cancelled due to violation of the trade act. The list includes women chambers from Nowshera, Char­ sadda, Rawalpindi, Swat, and Attock.

The following trade bodies had their licenses cancelled: Scrap Importers Association, All Pakistan Land Route Custom Agent Association, Plastic Scrap Association of Pakistan, All Pak­is­tan Copper Importer Exporter Association, All Pakistan Gem Merchants and Jewellers Association, Gas Heater Importer Association of Pakistan, Pakistan Transport Association, Ghee Exporter Association of Pakistan, All Pakistan Glass Manufacturers Importer Exporter Association, All Pakistan Cigarette Manu­facturers Association, All Pakis­tan Tractor Dealers Association, Pakistan Computer Association, Pakistan Steel Linepipe Industry Association, and Pakistan Ship Breakers’ Association.

However, the cancellation of licenses of All Pakistan Alloy Rim Manufacturers Association, All Pakistan Carbon Solvent Importers Association, and Submersible Pump Importer Association of Pakistan was withheld due to a stay order of the Balochistan High Court (BHC).

The following chambers had their licenses revoked: Musakhel, Qilla Saifullah, Charsadda, and Nagar.

The liecenses of Chaghi Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Pakistan-Iran Joint Chamber of Commerce was withheld due to a stay order of the BHC.

According to the DGTO press release, the following associations have expired: All Pakistan Furniture Exporters Association, All Pakistan Textile Mills Asso­ciation, Engineering Components and Machinery Manufacturing Association of Pakistan, Pakistan Animal Natural Sausage Casings Association, Pakistan Chemists and Druggists Association, United Producers Association and Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
