PESHAWAR, June 17: The National Democratic Institute (NDI) for International Affairs in collaboration with the Centre for Civic Education Pakistan will hold training workshops for political activists here on Saturday and Sunday.

The theme of the workshops is ‘local election campaign planning’.

Workers of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, Awami National Party, Pakistan People’s Party-Parliamentarian, Pakistan Muslim League and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz are expected to participate in the workshop.

“The planned workshop is geared to promote ideas for effective campaign at the grassroots level to broaden the base of support for political parties,” said NDI Country Director Mary Cummins.

The timing of the workshop coincides with the forthcoming local bodies elections and it is expected that party activists will be able to use the skills learned at the workshop to achieve better results for their parties.
