LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has withdrawn notifications regarding promotions of its officers and creation of two news posts earlier ordered by outgoing Chief Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali relaxing the rules.

The chief justice had promoted Afzaal Fazal Khokhar, senior private secretary/secretary to chief justice and Muhammad Ishaque Khaliqui, court associate/additional registrar (Court), as additional registrar (BS-20), on administrative side.

The CJ had also created two new posts of additional registrars two days before his retirement and posted the officers against them. Mr Khokhar had been posted as additional registrar (protocol for retired judges) and Mr Khaliqui as additional registrar (election tribunals).

Justice Yawar is reaching superannuation on Monday (today).

LHC Registrar Bahadar Ali Khan told Dawn that the notifications had been withdrawn by the chief justice.
