ISLAMABAD: Mohammad Munir of Islamabad Club took lead in the professional category event of the 10th Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Open Golf Championship here at the Margalla Greens Golf Club on Friday.

Playing superbly on the second day of the championship, seasoned Munir scored 65 six under par. He was followed by country’s ace golfer Shabbir Iqbal (68 three under par).

Wisal Khan, Mohammad Naeem, Yasir Rasheed, Mohammad Sohail and Zulfiqar Ali are occupying the third place with two under par.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Akram (65) fared impressively in the senior professional category, and was followed by Imdad Hussain (69) and Mehmood Hussain Kiani (72). At the end of the second day, Akram was in the lead (129).
