KARACHI, June 17: The City Nazim, Niamatullah Khan, on Thursday inaugurated a road construction project at UC-6 in Orangi Town. The two-km road is being constructed at a cost of Rs50 million from the Annual Development Programme (ADP) fund.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Mr Niamat said the road from Bismillah Chowk Gulshan-i-Zia to Mai Gari Northern Bypass would connect Orangi Town with Gadap Town.

Besides, the residents of Orangi Town would benefit economically from the said road, the nazim said.

He also announced an alternate road for the people of Orangi.

Mr Niamat said he considered Karachi as his well-wisher, adding that every area of the metropolis was his own.

As city nazim, he said, he had served people of all areas without discrimination.

Highlighting the city government’s performance, he said the Karachi Institute of Heart Diseases (KIHD) had been established at Gulberg so that people from all over the metropolis could be facilitated.
