KARACHI, June 16: Owing to continued strike of the teaching staff, the administration of the Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology has decided to put off the ongoing BA (private) annual examination at least for one day.

The controller of examination of the university, Syed Viqarul Haq, told Dawn on Thursday that due to the prevailing conditions at the Gulshan-i-Iqbal campus and non-availability of teachers, papers of BA examination scheduled to be held on Friday had been postponed.

Due to protest by the teaching and non-teaching staff, examinations also could not be held on Wednesday and Friday. The controller said that the new dates for the postponed papers of Wednesday, Thursday and Friday would be announced later, while other papers would be held from Saturday onwards as per the schedule.

In the meantime, teaching activities remained suspended on the second day at the Urdu varsity’s Gulshan-i-Iqbal campus on Thursday, as teachers did not turn up for the purpose.
