KARACHI: A 50-year-old woman was shot dead in Sohrab Goth area on Thursday morning, according to police.

Mrs Mai Toti was shot at and wounded in Noor Khan Goth. She was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead. The police officer said that the victim originally hailed from Larkana.

Police have reports that she was gunned down by her close relatives over some “family dispute”. However, the relatives have so far not registered a case.

Police slogan to be changed

Inspector General of Police Sindh Dr Syed Kaleem Imam on Thursday decided to change the slogan of the police. He said that existing slogan “Striving to serve” would be changed and sought detailed recommendations from the officers for implementation of a new slogan, according to police spokesperson.

Mr Imam was of the view that the present slogan describes word ‘striving’ while the police were practically serving the masses.
