KOHAT: Police on Thursday arrested a wanted terrorist from the mountains of Shakardarra who had escaped in Bannu jailbreak in 2012.

The alleged terrorist, Abdul Faheem, belonged to TTP and was wanted by both the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police. He was among the lot of top proclaimed offenders. According to a police statement, Faheem was involved in robberies, terrorist attacks, kidnappings, extortion and murders.

Acting on a tip-off the police surrounded a mountain in Nadraka area and he handed himself over in injured condition when SHO Vaqas Ahmed asked him to surrender.

He was taken to civil hospital, Shakardarra, and then KDA hospital for treatment.

Hundreds of TTP men had attacked the Bannu jail in 2012 and opened its gates with rocket launchers and took away their leaders.

Meanwhile, another proclaimed offender, identified as Ahmed Din, was killed by his enemies in Sumari Payan. His grandson nominated Anwar group for the murder of his grandfather.
