KARACHI, June 15: The special representative of the city nazim, Faizanullah, on Tuesday directed the KWSB engineers to take immediate measures for equal distribution of water to all city parts. He also asked them to make arrangements for repairing leaking water lines, so that water could be supplied to all areas with increased pressure.

He was speaking at a meeting of nazims of Saddar and Lyari towns summoned on the directives of City Nazim Niamatullah Khan to review water supply and sewerage situation in towns. Mr Niamat is also chairman of the KWSB.

The Nazim of Saddar Town, Farooq Memon Faria, Nazim Lyari Town Abdul Khaliq Juma, and Deputy Managing Director (Technical) of the water board Israr Zaidi attended the meeting.

Mr Faizanullah told the meeting that complaints of water supply were being reported due to obstacles in the operation of valves. However, the problem would be resolved in a few days, he added.
