Railways and Police triumph

LAHORE, June 14: Railways and Police notched up victories on the opening day of the Chaudhary Zahoor Elahi memorial kabaddi tournament at Attiq Stadium on Tuesday. Railways routed NWFP 48-16 points and Police defeated Punjab 56-42. Railways led the first half 34-13. They also dominated the second half. Rana Iftikhar, Muhammad Tufail, Saeed Ahmad, Khalid Bhatti and Shahzad scored mainly for the winners.

Punjab put up a spirited opposition to Police in both halves before going down. Police’s Muhammad Zia, Musharraf, Shahid and Imran played superbly.—APP
