GWADAR: A six-member Saudi delegation led by Ahmad Hameed Al-Ghamdi, adviser in the Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources, visited Gwadar on Tuesday.

The Saudi delegation’s members visited Gwadar port where Gwadar Port Authority chairman Dostain Khan Jamaldini and Gwadar Development Authority Director General Dr Sajjad Hussain briefed them on different development projects and works being undertaken under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The members of the delegation took a round of different projects and departments of the port and also visited the Gwadar Port’s free zone.

In the meeting with officials of the port authority, the Saudi delegation’s members were informed about security arrangements and facilities being provided to foreign investors in Gwadar.

Official sources said that the Saudi team showed keen interest in setting up an oil refinery and investment in different projects in Gwadar and expressed satisfaction over security arrangements and incentives being given to investors by the government.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Ahmed Hameed Al-Ghamdi said that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia had historical, religious and brotherly relations and Saudi Arabia wanted to contribute to the ongoing development process in Pakistan.
