ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination Dr Fahmida Mirza on Tuesday met the triumphant junior squash players who won medals in the Asian Junior Individual Squash Championship, which was held in India.

The federal minister met with the junior players at the Pakistan Sports Complex and felicitated them. She expressed them best wishes in their future endeavours.

Secretary Pakistan Squash Federation Tahir Sultan, officials of the PSF and Pakistan Sports Board were also present on the occasion.

The players brought laurels for the country by winning three gold medals and one silver medal during the event which was held in Chennai. In the U-15 category, Mohammad Hamza won gold while Haris Qasim won gold in the U-17 and Abbas Zeb in the U-19. Anas Ali Shah won a silver medal in the U-13 category.

The minister presented shields to the medal winners and assured them full support of the government.

She said that these players were the real heroes of the country as they made the entire nation proud by winning medals. She also felicitated the snooker players who recently won medals in Doha, Qatar.

Speaking to media persons, she said that efforts were being made for the appointment of a regular director general of the Pakistan Sports Board.
