ISLAMABAD: Oreen Jasia displayed quality tennis to overcome her opponent in the second round match of the Subh-e-Nau National Ladies Tennis Tournament at the PSB Tennis Courts here on Monday.

Her opponent Shireen Warraich showed good resistance before losing the match. The score remained 6-4, 6-3 in favor of Oreen.

Seasoned player Meheq Khokhar won her second round match with a victory over Nida Akram. While, Mahvish Chishtie defeated Shahida Kausar and Shimza Naz won her match against Shahida Badshah.

Esha Jawad’s and Shimza Naz’s pair won their Ladies Doubles match against Oreen and Anum Khan without any noted resistance from the latter.

Pairs of Meheq Khokhar and Sarah Mahboob and Mahnoor Sohail and Shahida Farooq moved to the next round after getting a bye.

Fatima Ali Raja moved to next round of the girls U-14 category with victory over Mahrukh Farooqui.

Doubles (1st round): Esha Jawad/Shimza Naz bt Oreen Jasia/Anum Khan 6-0, 6-0; Mahnoor/Shahida Kausar bt Fatima Syed/Syeda Shizap (bye); Meheq Khokhar/Sarah Mahboob bt Shahida Badshah/Sheeza Sajid (bye); Mahvish/Sara Mansoor bt Marium Mirza/Nida Akram 6-0, 6-1.
